La Madeleine French Bakery & Café has launched a virtual soup kitchen on the la Madeleine App and lamadeleine.com/order where guests can donate a $1 and receive a cup of soup and bread on their takeout or Grubhub order. Coined #HelpInACup the program is designed to make it easy to support one another and our communities during these uncertain times.

After transforming into a 100% takeout business, ensuring bakeries could safely stay open and serve guests, the la Madeleine team turned to the next challenge at hand: how to help? Known for their famous Tomato Basil Soup, opening up a virtual soup kitchen was the most natural way for la Madeleine to extend a helping hand.

“Help is needed in the communities we serve, and we all have a strong desire to do some good. With #HelpInACup, guests can add a cup of soup and bread to their takeout order for a $1 donation. Guests can then soup-it-forward, and safely drop the soup on the doorstep of a neighbor or friend in need. Proceeds from #HelpInACup will benefit local charities helping fight this virus. ” said Philippe Jean, president of la Madeleine.

Set to run Friday, March 27 through April 30, 2020 (extended due to demand), the #HelpInACup program will be extended if it proves to be helpful.

“Maybe your friend is a nurse, your grandparents are shut-in, or you know of a hard-working family with many mouths to feed. #HelpInACup enables us all be a good neighbor and show we care in a safe, simple way.” said Deseree Lopez, director digital marketing la Madeleine.

#HelpInACup is accessed through the la Madeleine App or lamadeleine.com/order. Click the #HelpInACup logo to add cups of soup and bread to your order for a $1 donation each. Daily soup recipes will vary based on availability. Orders available via curbside pick-up, takeout, and Grubhub.com. Call your bakery upon arrival and press “4” to have your order safely brought to your car.
